Manzanas caramelizadas con crocante de avena

Ingredientes

  • 2 libras de manzanas verdes
  • 2 cucharadas zumo de limón
  • 3 cucharadas de mantequilla
  • ¼ taza de azúcar parda
  • ½ taza azúcar blanca
  • 1 cucharadita de canela en polvo
  • ¼ cucharadita nuez moscada molida
  • Pizca de jengibre al gusto
  • Pizca de sal
  • 1 cucharadita de vainilla
  • ¾ taza de avena en hojuelas
  • ½ taza de harina
  • ¼ taza de azúcar parda
  • 1 cucharadita de canela en polvo
  • 1 barrita de mantequilla cortada en cubos

Preparación

  1. Precalentar el horno .
  2. Pelar las manzanas, removerles las semillas y el corazón, y cortarlas en cubitos de 1/4 a 1/2 pulgada.
  3. Colocarlas en un bowl y remojar con el zumo de limón para que no se oxiden.
  4. Derretir la mantequilla en el microondas o a baño maría, y agregar azúcar, especias, sal y vainilla.
  5. Agregar la mezcla de mantequilla a los cubitos de manzana y remover bien.
  6. Colocar en un pirex, tapar con papel de aluminio y llevar la horno por 40 minutos.
  7. Para el crocante, mezclar los ingredientes y con la ayuda de un tenedor o batidora mezclar hasta lograr una consistencia que parezca arena.
  8. Colocar la mezcla sobre las manzanas ya horneadas y llevar de nuevo al horno, sin tapar, por 25-30 minutos hasta dorar.
  9. Disfrutar mientras estén calientes o tibias, con helado de vainilla y salsa de caramelo por encima.
  10. Se pueden conservar en la nevera y recalentarlas en el horno o el microondas antes de comerlas.
  11. TIP: Puedes preparar las manzanas caramelizadas y guardarlas hasta por dos días y hornear con el crocante el mismo día deseas disfrutarlo para más frescura.
