Ingredientes

  • 12 Discos de masa suave para tacos
  • 1 ½ Taza de salsa tomate
  • 1 Taza de queso cheddar rallado
  • 1 Taza de queso mozzarella rallado
  • 1 Lata de tomates enteros en su jugo
  • 3 Cucharadas de aceite de oliva
  • 1 Cucharada de azúcar blanca
  • 1 Cucharada de vinagre balsámico
  • ½ Cebolla blanca picadita
  • 3 Hojas de albahaca fresca
  • 1 Diente de ajo
  • 1 Cucharadita de sal
  • ½ Cucharadita de pimienta
  • 1 Cucharadita de orégano seco (opcional)

Preparación

  1. Precalentar el horno a 375 grados F.
  2. Primero hacer las canastitas para las pizzitas colocando los discos en los moldes para pastelillos o cupcakes presionando en el fondo y haciendo forma de canastitas, llevar al horno por unos 10-12 minutos hasta que doren y estén crujientes. Retirar del horno y dejar en el molde.
  3. Rellenar las pizzitas con la salsa de pizza y por arriba colocar en partes iguales el queso cheddar y el mozzarella.
  4. Llevar al horno por unos 5-7 minutos hasta que el queso derrita.
  5. Para la Salsa de Tomate: Llevar a calentar una sartén profunda u ollita y agregar el aceite de oliva, seguido incorporar la cebolla y luego el ajo aplastado. Bajar el fuego y cocinar a por unos 2  minutos.
  6. Añadir los tomates previamente triturados (se puede hacer con las manos o cortarlos en pedazos grandes y uniformes) y el jugo restante. Mezclar bien con la cebolla y el ajo, agregar la sal y pimienta, el vinagre balsámico y el azúcar.
  7. Mezclar bien. Bajar el fuego, tapar y llevar a hervir por unos 10-12 minutos, agregar la albahaca y retirar del fuego.
  8. Si se usa orégano, se agrega junto con la albahaca.
