Ingredientes

  • 6 Tazas de pan cortado en cubitos
  • 1 Cucharada de mantequilla
  • 1 Cebolla grande
  • 1 Cucharadita de romero
  • 2 Tazas de salchicha italiana o el embutido de preferencia
  • 5 Huevos
  • ½ Taza de crema
  • 1 Taza de leche entera
  • 1 Taza de queso rallado

Preparación

  1. Calentar el horno a 350 F. Cortar el pan en cubitos, engrasar dos pirex y esparcir el pan sobre ellos para que no se amontone. Tostar el pan por 10 minutos, volteando los cubitos de vez en cuando para que se doren parejos.
  2. En una sartén calentar la mantequilla. Rebanar la cebolla súper delgadita y caramelízala a fuego lento. Sazonar con sal y pimienta.
  3. En otro sartén dorar la salchicha o el embutido de seleccionado. Partir todo para que quede en pedacitos muy pequeños (como si fuera picadillo).
  4. Quitarle el exceso de grasa a la salchicha, colocarla en un bowl, agregar la cebolla y el pan. En otro bowl, batir los huevos junto con la mostaza, la crema, la leche, la sal y la pimienta.
  5. Engrasar un molde para cupcakes con mantequilla. Rellenar cada molde con la mezcla de pan y salchicha, después agregar dos o tres cucharadas de huevo. Añadir el queso rallado a cada molde. Cubrir con plástico y refrigerar toda la noche. Por la mañana, calentar el horno a 175°C e introducir el molde por 30 minutos o hasta que el huevo quede bien cocido, el queso se derrita y el pan se dore.
  6. Deja enfriar por 5 minutos antes de desmoldar.
